To start off, Free Reign Entertainment, the studio behind this game; Infestation: Survivor Stories (the old one, not the remake), Romero’s Aftermath, Burstfire, Rise of the Badlands and Shattered Skies. These games we’re all created by this studio.

So you have been warned if you spend micro-transactions in the game. Who knows, they may stop supporting this game in a few months and work on something new. That’s what Free Reign is known for.

Now putting the studio name behind us.

Was the game under the radar?

You can say that. The game released 6 days after “PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS.” As of 4/9/17, PUBG had 82,122 players playing in the past hour, while LMS had 2,253 players playing in the past hour. That’s coming from a free to play game that ‘should’ have more players? Maybe lack of ad’s? It seems like they should have released LMS months before PUBG but, 🤷.

FPS?

I normally get between 57–100+ FPS. Depending on the area, etc. Some people are complaining about it, I can run it pretty well and I don’t even have a beast computer.

How does it play?

It’s 50/50. It depends how you view the game. They definitely took aspects of their game Infestation and brought barricades, UI, characters and more into the game. You can kinda say it’s Shattered Skies, but without the open world’ness.

Shooting wise, is it better than H1Z1: KotK, yes. The bullets actually hit. Gameplay wise, it plays like all their other games put together, I can’t describe it in words. The game just didn’t hit my standard of a Battle Royale, so I didn’t play that much (maybe 2 or 3 matches). It’s more arcadey than H1Z1 believe it or not.

Last Man Standing is a poor mans Battle Royale game. Can it be fun for a player who doesn’t care about the arcadey’ness? Yes. Does it have replayability? No.

Pros:

  • Practice server. You can enter the Battle Royale world, test the weapons, learn the map and have an infinite play time/spawn time.
  • Solo and Squad servers.
  • Depending on a match, it can last up to 25 minutes.

Cons (Some of the annoying cons of the game):

  • You have to enter in your password every time you start the client. No option to save it or auto log-in.
  • Want to change FOV? You have to restart the game.
  • Barricades, such a pointless feature. Why bring it back?
  • Their isn’t a game mode for just a normal BR, without the barricades.
  • No first person only servers.

My Review Score: 6/10
